Wat Phra Kaeo Noi is the temple of the palace on Phra Nakhon Khiri, King Mongkut's (Rama IV) summer palace, and lies east of the palace. The king had it built as a copy of Wat Phra Si Rattana Satsadaram in the Grand Palace, Bangkok. It is now part of Phra Nakhon Khiri Historical Park.

The vihara is shaped like a small ordination hall with marble walls; its stucco pediment by Phetchaburi craftsmen features the Great Crown of Victory. It once housed a crystal Buddha, taken back to Bangkok after Rama IV's death; a marble Buddha and a replica of the Emerald Buddha are now enshrined.

Behind the hall stands the Phra Sutthasela Chedi, a 9 m stone chedi carved on Ko Si Chang island and reassembled on the summit of Khao Wang. The compound also has the Red Prang, open pavilions and a bell tower.
