Royal temple

Wat Khongkharam Worawihan is a second-class royal temple of the Mahanikai order, founded in 1827. An inscription in front of the chanting hall records that King Nangklao (Rama III) restored it and set aside funds from the privy purse for the work.

The mondop, built in 1915, is a tall square brick-and-stucco structure with a five-tiered roof and gable finials, set on a raised floor with a surrounding terrace and stairs on all four sides. The temple also has a scripture library standing in water, and keeps old Tripitaka cabinets, sema boundary stones and roof ornaments.
