Huai Phak Reservoir

อ่างเก็บน้ำห้วยผาก

A royal-initiative reservoir at Ban Yang Chum in Tambon Klat Luang, built after King Bhumibol's 1980 visit to bring water to villages along the Huai Phak stream, and also intended as a place to relax.

On 17 June 1980 King Bhumibol visited the Huai Sai weir and the headwaters of Huai Sam Phan Nam in Cha-am district, and advised the Royal Irrigation Department to build Huai Phak Reservoir without delay, so that villagers along the Huai Phak stream would have water all year and floods in the rainy season would be eased.

The reservoir is at Moo 6, Ban Yang Chum, Tambon Klat Luang, Tha Yang district. Besides supplying farms and supporting the Phetchaburi irrigation scheme, the project was also meant as a breeding ground for freshwater fish and as a place for recreation.
