Wat Tha Khoi stands on the bank of the Phetchaburi River. It was founded in 1770, received its royal grant of consecrated land (wisungkhamsima) on 30 April 1979, and was registered as a national ancient monument in 1993.

The old ordination hall is in the Ayutthaya architectural style, with moulded stucco decoration on its gable and door arches. The temple has four redented chedis with pointed spires, which villagers paid to restore in 1991, placing the ashes of their ancestors inside.

The original monks’ quarters were a single-storey cluster of seven buildings in a ‘stars around the moon’ layout, with a dining hall in the middle. When they fell into disrepair, they were rebuilt from 1995 on the north side of the temple beside the river as eight two-storey Thai-style houses.
