Wat Khoi
วัดข่อย
Wat Khoi is a Mahanikai community temple next to Phra Nakhon Khiri Historical Park. It was founded in 1857; its brick-and-stucco ordination hall dates from 1904, the year the temple was granted consecrated ground (wisungkhamsima).
Later the temple built Phra That Chimphli, a square three-storey structure 27 m tall on an 18 m base. The ground floor enshrines the principal image Phra Phuttha Setthi Mingmongkhon, made entirely of silver, together with Phra Phuttha Setthi Nawakot and Phra Siwali.
Outside, stucco figures of deities with joined palms line all four sides; the doors and windows are carved wood showing the zodiac animals, the Himavanta forest and the deities of the days of the week, and the walls are painted with scenes from the Buddha's life.
