Highlights

Wat Thai Talat was founded in 1887. It had once been abandoned until villagers invited Phra Khru On Chanthachot from Wat Fuea Sutham to be its abbot; he restored it and added new buildings. It received its royal grant for an ordination hall boundary (wisungkhamsima) in 1926.

The ordination hall, a masonry building from 1927, has murals by the master painter Yu Inmi, who also painted the gallery murals at Wat Phra Si Rattana Satsadaram (Wat Phra Kaew) in Bangkok.

The temple's most revered image is Luang Pho Ruai, a gilded bronze Buddha whose robe bears a pikun-flower pattern, thought to date from the reign of King Rama III of the Rattanakosin period. There is also a wooden sermon hall built in 1939.
