Cha-am Beach
หาดชะอำ · Also: Hat Cha-am
Cha-am's long sandy beach, about 5 km on the Gulf of Thailand, with a beachfront road, plenty of restaurants and hotels, and a long history as a favourite seaside break for Thai families.
Cha-am Beach is one of Phetchaburi's best-known beaches, about 5 km long and backed by a beachfront road of more than 4 km. It is popular with Thai holidaymakers, and many hotels and restaurants line the shore.
Along the sand you will find restaurants, deckchairs for hire, horse rides and jet skis. The beach suits water sports and relaxed outdoor days with family and friends.
Cha-am became known as a resort after Hua Hin had made its name, when members of the royal court found its beach just as beautiful. The district office later moved here and the district took the name Cha-am.
Getting there
From the Cha-am traffic-light junction, follow Narathip Road east for about 1 km to the beach. Cha-am is about 41 km from Phetchaburi town and about 20 km from Hua Hin.
